PUMPOUTS

Do You Need A Total System Evacuation? Let’s Talk About Pumpouts.

DOES YOUR ATU UNIT REQUIRE A TOTAL SYSTEM EVACUATION (TSE)?

Eventually the main tank of your Aerobic Treatment Unit (ATU) will get full.

The friendly team at Ecowater Services monitors the fullness of the tank during Routine Maintenance attendances.

The Western Australian Department of Health currently recommends your alternative wastewater system requires pumping out about every four years. This must be undertaken by a qualified liquid waste contractor.

Time between TSE’s is influenced by:

  • How well the system has been maintained
  • Ensure routine maintenance is up-to-date
  • Follow the Do’s and Don’ts of ATU care
  • How many people live or work at the property
  • The size of the tank

You can significantly reduce the frequency of a pump-out (and save money) by taking a proactive approach to caring for your ATU. Using the right products has a significant impact on the health of an alternative wastewater treatment system. We recommend switching to Enviroplus and Ecocare products and following our helpful hints. You can also download our FREE printable 10 Absolute Do's and Don'ts for a Healthy ATU. Print it out and put one on the fridge door and on the toilet door to ensure every member of your family or business is aware.

The good bacteria in the unit (if looked after) has done their job of reducing the volume of solids down to a minimum but the residue does need periodic removal.
