FOR REAL ESTATE AGENTS

REAL ESTATE AGENTS

ARE YOU SELLING A PROPERTY THAT

HAS AN AEROBIC TREATMENT UNIT (ATU) OR SEPTIC SYSTEM?

An Aerobic Treatment Unit (ATU), is a wastewater recycling system that many existing domestic and commercial properties have in place in non mains sewer connected areas. This includes new developments. It is designed as an efficient two-stage biological wastewater treatment plant and incorporates disinfection. It produces high quality recycled water that has Department of Health approval for reticulation use on gardens. This wastewater is not fit for human consumption and should not be used to water fruit and vegetable plants.

It may be the preferred type of system to install based on environmental considerations of the geographical area.

Common types of systems in Western Australia are Aquarius, Biomax, Biosystems 2000, Fujiclean, Graf ePro, Taylex. Less common systems that we service are Advantex, AQ Aqua Nova, Biocycle and Ecomax.

WHAT YOU NEED

TO KNOW

It is a legal requirement to have ATU’s regularly serviced with a written maintenance agreement with an authorised service provider. Copies of service reports are provided to the property owner and are required to be sent to the relevant local Council.

Are you aware?

Recent changes to the Seller’s Disclosure Statement now call for Aerobic Treatment Units to be declared by the seller of the property as unique from septic tanks.
