Based on lots of experience dealing with the messy aftermath of ATU emergencies we feel it's our duty at Ecowater Services to encourage our customers to be aware of the contributing factors in system failure and the steps they can take to minimise callouts and effluent overflow.

In short, anything that goes down the drains is going into your alternative wastewater system and this will in time affect its ability to function efficiently. Use of harsh chemicals, bleaches, pouring fats down sinks can really damage the healthy bacterial culture in the unit - this in time will result with expense and mess and more frequent pump-outs - and impact on the health and wellbeing of the people using the facilities at your place.

For these reasons we recommend that all paper and chemical products used in your ATU be as blackwater safe as possible.
